Introduction and Invitation
It is our pleasure to welcome you to Glasgow for UKCS 2027 - sure to be an exciting, thought-provoking, multidisciplinary meeting. Our theme, 'Back Tae the Future', celebrates our Scottish roots but also the evolution and future of continence care. Together, we aim to explore how innovation, collaboration and emerging technology can transform care for those with bladder, bowel and pelvic floor disorders. Over 3 days, delegates will have the opportunity to learn from a vast faculty representing numerous national societies. Our programme hopes to reflect the depth, breadth and complexity of continence care, bringing together expertise from a variety of disciplines and highlighting the importance of collaborative working environments for us as medical professionals but also for the best outcomes. Programme: The conference will explore exciting developments including sessions on artificial intelligence, genomics and more. This will provide insight into how technology may influence patient experience and service delivery in forthcoming years. We will also address increasingly relevant topics for all including vulval disease, menopause care and ageing, recognising the interconnected nature of pelvic health across an entire lifespan. | In keeping with our theme of challenging boundaries and embracing new perspectives, we are delighted to welcome Dr Rachel Smith from Belfast an inspirational keynote speaker whose achievements extend far beyond her role in medicine. As the first woman with Type 1 diabetes to summit Mount Vinson, the highest peak in Antarctica, she will share a remarkable story of resilience, determination and overcoming limitations - qualities that are sure to resonate strongly with us all in one way or another. Networking: Beyond the main programme, UKCS 2027 should provide exciting opportunity for you to network and collaborate, encouraging the exchange of ideas across specialties which may help to shape future research, education and practice or even just begin to make new colleagues one day become old friends. We look forward to welcoming you to our drinks reception, where we can come together to truly begin the conference experience. | The celebrations will continue at our formal conference dinner and dance, offering a memorable evening of Scottish hospitality, entertainment and camaraderie in the heart of Glasgow - 'No Scotland, no Party' as the saying goes! As you participate in the conference, we hope you will leave with:
