The annual meeting is multidisciplinary and is appropriate for the presentation and discussion of “work in progress” or “ideas for research” in addition to providing a forum for more complete work and guest lectures. Comprehensive coverage of all aspects of continence is encouraged and, to this end, the 1995 and 1996 meetings included the active participation of colo-rectal surgeons and others interested in faecal continence.
