Urodynamics Update Workshop

Wednesday 10th April 2024:  - 13.00 - 17.00

Chairs: 

Urodynamics is the foundation of functional urology and urogynaecology. This workshop will focus on good urodynamic practice in line with the published ‘Minimum standards Document’ but will also include the challenges in the various patient groups: men, women, neurological patients, and children. We will also discuss the proposal for accreditation of units.

14.00 – 14.10 Introduction

14.10 - 14.40 Minimum Standards for a Urodynamics Unit

14.40 - 15.00 Urodynamics in females

15.00 - 15.20 Urodynamics in males

15.20 - 15.50 Urodynamics in neurological patients

15.50 - 16.10 Urodynamics in children

16.10 - 16.30 Practical Updates and Accreditation

16.30- 17.00 Case Discussions with faculty and delegates.

Flexi-cystoscope and botulinum toxin type A

Wednesday 10th April from 15.00 and 11th April 2024:  - from 10.30 onwards.

Leads: 


A hands-on training workshop, where participants will have the opportunity to practice their injection techniques for administering botulinum toxin type A for overactive bladder (OAB) and neurogenic detrusor overactivity (NDO) using flexible or rigid ambulatory cystoscopes with male and female phantom models.

Approximate duration: 45 minutes.

Delegates will be asked to pre-book - please express your interest to receive a booking form.

There is no fee for this Workshop.



Supporting Pessary for Pelvic Organ Prolapse 

Wednesday 10th April 2024:  - 13.00 - 17.00

Programme guided by the UK Clinical Guideline for Best Practice in the use of Vaginal Pessaries for Pelvic Organ Prolapse

Aspects included:

Changing an existing ring pessary

Changing an existing non ring pessary

Prolapse assessment and fitting a pessary for the first time (minimum 3 types)

Self-management of pessaries

    Obstetric Anal Sphincter Injuries: hands-on workshop

(incl. Endo-anal ultrasound)

UKCS is planning and 'roadshow' series later in the year.
